Rockwell Collins Scholarship
is an academic course connected to an international service-learning spring break trip that was developed by Career Leadership Academy staff, UI faculty, and the Iowa Rotary Club District 6000. This course, allows CLA students to explore leadership from a global perspective before, during and after their travel to Xicotepec, Mexico. The Rockwell Collins Corporation generously donated money to CLA for students to travel as part of this service-learning and global leadership skill development trip.
Global Leadership Initiative in Xicotepec
Scholarship and Trip Eligibility: To be eligible to receive one of the Rockwell Collins scholarships, applicants must:
- Be at least a current Career Leadership Academy Part 1 or 2 student at the time of travel over spring break, OR
- Be an alumnus of the Career Leadership Academy currently taking UI courses at the time of travel over spring break.
- Enroll in the following courses during the spring semester when the trip shall take place.
- LS:3009:0001 Global Leadership Initiative in Xicotepec – 2 semester hours
- ABRD:3352:0006 International Perspectives Xicotepec, Mexico – 1 semester hour
