Like most seniors approaching the final months of their senior year at the University of Iowa I began to think “What am I going to do after graduation?” As a communications major I knew I wanted to find a job that would allow me to work with great people in a goal oriented environment and allow me to be challenged every day.
TEKsystems is an IT staffing and services company that helps clients solve their business and IT initiatives through providing top IT talent in over 100 cities nationwide. Locally, TEKsystems supports approximately 90 clients in Iowa, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
My current role as a technical recruiter consists of networking and building relationships with technical professionals in the Des Moines, Iowa area. As a technical recruiter, I strive to not only become a business partner but also a friend to these local technical professionals. A typical day consists of making calls, coffee meetings, lunches and happy hours to network with technical professionals to understand their professional skills, goals and interests. From there I work to match them with an opportunity that aligns with all facets of what they are looking for in a career.
I started with TEKsystems more than a year and a half ago and from day one TEK has continued to provide me with both personal and professional development.
