WHY PEOPLE SPY is a 60-75 minute presentation, rich in audience participation, that combines real life examples of espionage, a fair amount of social science, and multiple opportunities for audience contributions to understand what motivates "spies" to operate across cultures and around the world. The presentation also debunks the popular culture/movie image of what "spies" really are and how they operate. Finally, CIA representatives will describe the kinds of careers within the Agency’s Directorate of Operations and the skills and experiences they look for in those interested in pursuing this unique profession. Undergraduates, graduates, PhDs and Post-Docs, and alumni of all majors are welcome to attend. *No RSVP needed. Contact Joanna Halsch in career services with questions (joanna-halsch@uiowa.edu) *Must hold U.S. citizenship (includes dual citizenship) to apply for positions with the CIA
