Student Spotlight: Levi Hacker

Levi Hacker interned at MidAmerica Securities in Coraville, Iowa this past summer as an Equity Research Intern.

What were your internship responsibilities?

My responsibilities were primarily research-based with a focus in exchange traded fund’s (ETFs), mutual funds, and stocks. However, I had other duties that consisted of compliance work, assisting the broker with database management work, updating quarterly earnings and revenues released by companies on a consistent basis, as well as responding to client inquiries.

Student Spotlight: John Markwiese

John Markwiese interned with AT&T in Dallas, Texas at the AT&T Headquarters this past summer as a Finance Intern with the Global Payments Strategies and Operations department.

What were your internship responsibilities?

I worked closely with all levels of management to complete numerous projects. I provided financial analysis for each of the projects which resulted in cash savings and allowed work between organizations to flow smoothly and at a quicker pace.

What did a normal work day look like?

Student Spotlight: Tess Wilberding

Tess Wilberding interned abroad in Australia for Zadro Agency as a Communications Intern.

What were your internship responsibilities?

I went to meetings, wrote press releases, designed brochures for clients, did copy writing, set up displays at company events and helped host them, attended workshops, sent emails, made phone calls, produced social media marketing and a few other things.

What did a normal work day look like?

Student Spotlight: Eliza Huber

Eliza Huber worked as a Marketing Intern in New York City for the online fashion editorial site, CollegeFashionista.

What were your internship responsibilities?

I had a very broad list of responsibilities. Some weeks I would work on the same task everyday and others I would be doing something completely new and unique. I did a wide variety of jobs ranging from social media to event planning to editorial.

How did you find your internship?

Student Spotlight: Julian Sanchez

Julian Sanchez spent his past summer in Las Vegas, Nevada as a Public Relations Intern for Preferred Public Relations.

What were your internship responsibilities?

Some of my responsibilities included building their media list and maintaining communication with their contacts. I wrote press releases and media alerts for high profile clients like Fremont Street Experience and Downtown Grand Las Vegas. I also curated content and maintained social media sites for Downtown Grand properties like Triple George Grill and Sidebar.

Student Spotlight: Brandon Svac

Brandon Svac spent his summer in New York City interning for J.P. Morgan as a Residential Mortgage-Backed Security Banking & Originations (RMBS Banking) Analyst.

What were your internship responsibilities?

During my internship, I primarily worked with the preparation of legal documents and development of presentations for senior bankers and senior client management. Additionally, I conducted some analysis of MBS products and the market, and developed potential pitches on two prospective clients that the firm should contact with opportunities.
