This position works a 40-hour work week Monday through Friday but would be eligible to work from home for up to two days per week after the first six months of employment.KDHE provides employees with a friendly work environment and opportunities to grow their career in the environmental field. If the primary method of release detection has failed, completes such reviews within 10 working days of receipt of inventory control and release detection records. This position is the main reviewer of letters of self-insurance, guarantees, coverage under risk retention groups, surety bonds, insurance policies, 3rd party liability insurance policies and letters of credit to a make sure these mechanisms meet state and federal requirements for demonstrating financial responsibility for damage to property and bodily injury cases by releases from USTs and allow the permitting of USTs. Completes reviews of the documents listed above within 5 working days. Employer: California Air Resources Board Expires: 05/21/2024 The Monitoring and Laboratory Division (MLD) is seeking highly qualified applicants to work in the Special Analysis Section (SAS) of the Northern Laboratory Branch. SAS is a state-of-the-art laboratory dedicated to providing analytical support for CARB's Consumer Products Program and Composite Wood Products Airborne Toxic Control Measure. SAS staff perform analysis on chemically formulated consumer products and aerosol coating products to ensure compliance with volatile organic compound standards, toxic air contaminant prohibitions, and greenhouse gas emissions. Undergraduate is defined as an associate or bachelor's degree program.  Contract Timeline:• 11 week appointment beginning in June 2024, pending successful completion and passage of DOI Background Investigation• June - August• Full-time, 40-hrs wkLocation:Sacramento, CA; California State BLM OfficeCompensation and Benefits:• Wage: $20/hr• Medical, dental, and vision insurance available at no cost• Housing is not provided but housing allowance may be available to non-local candidates (approval required)• Relocation support may be provided to those who will need to relocate (approval required)Job Qualifications:• Must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate (<1 year from graduation) to be eligible for the DHA program; • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism, Natural Resource Management, Biology, Sustainability, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Conflict Resolution, or related discipline, or a combination of relevant education and field experience;• Basic understanding of public resource management;• Enthusiasm about the position, with interest in and knowledge of botany and invasive species monitoring;• High level of proficiency leading field work in dynamic field settings; • Excellent organizational skills;• Experience with data entry and QA/QC procedures;• Reliable, team-player with strong leadership and communication skills;• Possession of a clean, valid, state-issued driver’s license; and• Successfully complete and pass a federal background check prior to starting position.
