The Pomerantz Career Center is pleased to offer the engaging and interactive UI STEP--Workforce Development Program to student employees again in the Spring of 2024.

UI STEP provides professional development and training for your student staff that is beyond the job specifics and focuses solely on workforce development and professionalism.

This FREE session is offered 4 times though students only need to attend one. Attendance will be taken at the session in hopes that you will compensate your students for the time spent in the workshop.

• Develop a professional mindset—treating your student job as a “real job”
• Promote workplace behavior best practices
• Learn about career development through employment tips and further professional developmental opportunities
• Understand transferable skills, leadership on the job, networking abilities, and fostering a sense of professionalism with your peers and supervisors
• Develop positive peer-to-peer and supervisor interaction techniques to facilitate personal and professional growth
• Understand the difference between meeting and exceeding expectations and be able to execute strategies to perform at the next level
