Career Coaching
We assist all class years (first-years through seniors) and provide 1:1 advising appointments for almost all undergraduate majors (students in the College of Engineering utilize Engineering Career Services). Students can schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Coach (based on their self-selected career community) on MyUI.
Exploring Majors & Careers
We offer a variety of career assessments and other resources that allow students to examine their career interests and explore what they can do with their major.
Student Employment
A range of university offices and departments have a need for student employees. Students can search and apply for positions on Handshake which provides listings for campus jobs, including work-study positions, and part-time jobs in the Iocal Iowa City area (in addition to internships and full-time jobs).
My Career Path
My Career Path is a completely online program that allows for an easy and non-intimidating way for students to start making career progress on their schedule. Based on career interests and plans, students receive personalized suggestions regarding career activities and events, and other career to-do’s.

Career Fairs and other networking events are fantastic opportunities for students to connect with employers and learn more about internship and full-time job opportunities. - Career Treks
Our Career Treks are 1-2 day events that allow students to explore particular industries by touring organizations, networking with professionals, and learning more about the work companies perform.
Career Center Courses
The Career Center offers several classes for academic credit that allow students to focus on their career, leadership, and professional development. Classes range from 1 - 3 s.h., short-term to full length, and in-person and online.
Internships
Internships (and other experiential learning opportunities) are a crucial piece of a student’s career development. There are several ways students can gain related work experiences that will help build their resume and develop their skill set.
