WALK-IN HOURS

We offer walk-in hours Mon-Fri, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Pomerantz Career Center (except for during summer, winter and spring break).

To schedule an appointment, click on the link below. U of I students who have quick career advising, internship, job search or resume questions can stop by for a 10-15 minute session with one of our Career Peer Advisors. First come, first served. Schedule an Appointment

30 minute appointments are available with one of our Career Advisors. These meetings are tailored to meet each individual student’s needs. Whether you are choosing a major, exploring career possibilities, or are beginning to search for internships and jobs, we will help you identify next steps in the process, connect with resources, and create a plan. What happens during an appointment?

After signing in at the front desk in our reception area, you will be seated and wait for your Career Advisor. They will come out to greet you and you will go to their office with them. As you begin your appointment, the advisor will clarify with you why you’ve come in, and ask how they may be of assistance. From there, your advisor with work with you to make progress on your career planning and the goals or needs you’ve specified. At the end of the appointment, your advisor will help you to identify your next steps and action items, and may suggest a follow-up appointment.

 

Who is eligible for Career Advising?

Current UI students (undergraduates from all majors) and alumni within one year of their graduation date are eligible for individual career advising appointments. UI graduate/professional school students and alumni, please see the referral list to identify career services specific to your needs.
