Clinical Student Assistant - Women's Wellness and Counseling Service - UIHC

The Department of Psychiatry Women’s Wellness & Counseling Service is seeking an Undergraduate Student to assist the Clinic Director and the Graduate Research Assistant by engaging in patient referral triage, appointment scheduling, and patient check-in/check-out services. TIME COMMITMENT: 10-15 hours per week; fiscal year position JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates will possess the following skills/qualifications:Excellent communication skills: in person, on phone, in writing; the Undergraduate Clinical Student will interact with patients, clinic staff, and health care providers within the hospital and across the city/region/state. They will discuss various treatment options with patients and orient them to clinic procedures/operations. Previous counseling or direct patient interaction is recommended but not required.Ability to type, to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and to manage the clinic phone line (incoming calls and voicemail messages).Basic understanding of mental illness; compassion and empathy for persons in emotional distress.Ability to make complex treatment/care recommendations (triage decisions) considering patient needs as well as clinic capabilities.Willingness to complete necessary job training requirements, such as those pertaining to the use of Electronic Medical Records, patient care, scheduling of patient appointments, etc.Note that this clinic runs from 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday, but some evening and weekend hours may be required through virtual work. Student Office Assistant

IIHR—Hydroscience and Engineering (http://www.iihr.uiowa.edu/) has an opening for a Student Office Assistant for summer 2024 to provide general support in the administrative office. Candidates must be a student and have good written and verbal communication skills. A valid driver’s license is required and continued compliance with the standards of the University Driving Policy. (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19). Work schedule:Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (15 to 20 hours/week), in-person. There may be an opportunity to work 40 hours over breaks. Position duration will depend on satisfactory performance and work needs. Pay: $13- $15 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.Under direct supervision, the Student Office Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for IIHR calls and visitors. Grant Accounting Assistant

Pay: $12.15 per hour, fully remote          Hours per week: generally 8-14 hours, maximum 14 hours per weekRequired Qualifications:  Must be an enrolled student. Begin position in May or June 2024, to work through Summer 2024, through to at least May 2025, and preferably continuing through May 2026. Commitment to a regular daily work schedule, strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to enter data in spreadsheets and databases accurately. Work effectively in a remote work office setting.Desirable Qualifications: Experience entering data in spreadsheets or databases efficiently and accurately, three months of office experience, background in business/finance; prefer major in Business, Finance, or Accounting.Work Schedule: Flexible hours between hours of 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; after training can consider weekend hours. SUMMER 2024! Physical Infrastructure Student Assistant

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK (ideally full-time or close to) during summer 2024. This student position is a member of the Physical Infrastructure and Network Engineering Services team, they are teams within Information Technology Services (ITS)-Enterprise Infrastructure (EI). This student position will assist the team in performing its role to install cable; verify IT rooms for electrical and mechanical equipment labeling; troubleshoot GPS coordinates of physical plant; GIS entry; UPS installs; responding to maintenance issues for UPS; and document enterprise IT systems within the database of ITConnect. This position provides an opportunity to do hands on work, to learn, and to build real-world job skills including planning, collaboration, communication, and customer service.
