Sponsor a Student Experience

$1,000$50,000

The Hawkeye Experience Grant is a career readiness initiative that supports defraying the costs of students’ unpaid or underpaid summer experiences (internships in U.S. or abroad, research and creative scholarship, and community service), especially for students who would not be able to participate without scholarship support. Gifts to support grants are a great opportunity to build brand awareness while aligning with your organization’s philanthropy goals.

Donors could fund one student’s summer experience or multiple, dependent upon their giving goals and ability. See where past funds have made an impact in students’ lives.

  • $1,000 defrays moving costs to an internship out of state or out of the country

  • $2,000 defrays living costs for a half-time experience

  • $4,000 defrays living costs for a full-time experience

In conversations with the grant coordinator, sponsors may preference what type of experience they want to support (ex. unpaid internship in a non-profit/government, underpaid internship at a for-profit, unpaid internship abroad, unpaid research or creative scholarship, or community service). Dependent upon that year’s applicants, sponsors may also preference field, geographic location, or area of study that aligns with their philanthropy goals (for example – a student interning in social services related fields, a student studying abroad, or a student studying public health, etc.), but ultimately the goal will be to meet the need of as many UI students as possible.

  • Gifts are recognized with donor names displayed on scholarship webpage and in group orientations

  • Gifts are recognized with donor names provided to recipient with funding offer

  • Opportunity for you to support the next generation of talent

  • Opportunity to preference giving to align with workforce development needs or your philanthropy’s areas of focus
