The main purpose of this position is to help our customers make a smooth conversion to the Reynolds and Reynolds system and provide training and customer support throughout the process. In this position, you will travel approximately 80% of the time. You will travel both individually and with a team installing and converting our software for customers. This requires excellent presentation and communication skills as you will meet with dealership management to understand the needs for each dealership. Flight Paramedics will need to have good communication with the receiving facility to get medical direction and to provide patient's status and other critical information. Individuals must complete extensive written documentation on patient condition and treatment provided, as well as understand all applicable legal, moral and ethical issues surrounding the emergency medical service. Flight Paramedics should maintain communication with the patient and the family, comforts and reassures patients and be able to demonstrate concern and courtesy while maintaining confidentiality of the patient's information.Individuals will assist with patient care in the receiving facility; lifting and moving patients as required. This opportunity will provide a solid understanding of AAU and help interns gain practical and real-world work experience in Washington, D.C.   Primary activities/responsibilities during this internship may include some of the following:Attending and reporting on congressional hearings and meetings in the higher education community.Tracking legislation and congressional committee hearing schedules.Drafting congressional correspondence, briefing papers, and other written materials and analysis.Shadowing AAU staff in their daily activities and assisting them as appropriate, to gain exposure to Congress, other higher education and scientific associations, university government relations representatives, the executive branch, and federal agencies.Assisting AAU’s public opinion project in all aspects of the research process, from questionnaire design to analysis, data visualization, and presentation of results.Contributing to one of the many higher education research projects currently ongoing at AAU by writing memos, compiling reports, and analyzing data.Duration and ScheduleInternships typically last 3 months with a part-time schedule of 7 hours a day, 4 days a week (maximum of 28 hours per week). Information may be analyzed for consideration by policy makers. Work closely with IOP staff, assisting with the administrative and programmatic goals and objectives of the department. Contributing to the strategic planning and future project development. Incumbent will be required to attend weekly staff meetings, policy committee meetings, educational forums, and annual retreat. Cultivate and maintain relationships with regional leaders.
