The Advocates undertakes research to drive policy change that prevents human trafficking by addressing the root causes of sex trafficking in Minnesota through a human rights-based approach.  Interns will gain practical skills in research and analyzing current federal and state policy in human rights, as well as identifying best practices in the fulfillment of socio-economic rights. Interns will also gain skills in community organizing. U.S. Human Rights Policy and Anti-Labor Trafficking Legal Internship Fall 2024 at The Advocates for Human Rights

This internship focuses primarily on U.S. human rights issues rather than international human rights advocacy. Interns will gain practical skills working on human rights policy advocacy at the state and federal level. In the past, our interns have worked on projects relating to trafficking, immigration, racial justice and due process. Interns will help with policy and legal research for comments on executive branch notices of proposed rulemaking.
